Today I learned...

... that the Star Spangled Banner was based on a poem written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key about what he witnessed in the War of 1812.
... that Lincoln Logs were created in 1918.

oooh Keri, you have to make a breakfast cookie sometime! if you use a paper plate it ends up being as big as the plate! now, put that beside a pathetic oreo!!!

in fact, i just made one tonight for either tomorrow or sunday. i based it on a snickers bar b/c i'd been craving it for some reason? (i think it's that betty white commercial.)

i mixed together white chocolate pb with half a tbsp cocoa powder and a drop of vanilla and about 1/8 cup of milk. i mixed that, then added 1/2 cup oats. added like 15 toasted peanuts to that, and half a fuji apple cut up really finely. (i had chocolate chips to put in too, but forgot! how does THAT happen?!) at the end, i drizzled half a tbsp honey on top!

the theme was snickers, but it's reminding me of a candy apple right now! i've got big hopes for it.

thanks for your comment; sorry this one's so long. i just really hope you try this kinda cookie sometime!

xoxo

Hi Keri,

History has never been a strong area for me.

Thanks for your kind comment on my sad entry:( We just never know what's around the corner for us. I've learned a lot about grief and shock....

You're a great person to know, too. Enjoy your weekend!
